Travis Gale

Travis was born in Durban, South Africa. At the age of 18, Travis was inducted into the world of cause driven adventure when he and a friend, Stephen Bonaconsa, spent a year cycling 17000km across four continents raising R1.7million for children living with and affected by HIV AIDS. It was on this tour, where Travis penned a vision for an organisation he wanted to create one day called Appletree.

After completing his studies in Human Resources, Travis spent a year on the island of Koh Phi Phi, Thailand working in the dive industry, before the devastating tsunami at the end of 2004 catalysed a return to South Africa with a renewed fervor to work with people.

Upon return, Travis established The Appletree Group alongside a group of consultants. Over the past 16 years, Travis has developed himself as a facilitator, consultant and coach partnering clients from a wide range of industries including; Engineering, FMCG, Financial Services, IT, eCommerce and Retail. As part of the Appletree Group, Travis launched The Middle brand after publishing The Middle book. The brand seeks to encourage and equip individuals and teams through The Middle; the territory we must navigate in pursuit of our goals.

His passions include spending time with his wife and two immensely cute and energetic daughters, as well as trail running and mountain biking.
