Antóine (Tony) Devitt
Practical Soft Skills Specialist & Co-Presenter
Hi there, and thanks for giving me the opportunity to tell you about myself and why we have decided to join UDEMY. I have 30 years Operations and People Management experience in Retail and Retail Catering, Leisure, Shopping Centres, High Street, Local Government and Airports and I am also MD of my creative consultancy.
Over the years I have worked in many countries designing, delivering and implementing programmes created to help Managers with responsibility for 'Managing People' learn the necessary 'Soft Skills'.
I've been involved in corporate training in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Luxembourg and the USA and held Operational responsibility in business in The UK, Ireland and Germany. I have been responsible for turnover of 35m Euro. (28m GBP/ 3000m INR/ 40m USD/ 53m AUD)
My work in developing and designing training has won a National Training Award and I have used training to drive achievement of the Investor In People Award.
In my consultancy work I have worked with some of the worlds biggest FMCG and in sectors as varied as Theatre & Coffee.
Me and my colleague Maitui have created this programme for UDEMY for 2 reasons. Firstly to develop our business, and I suppose that it obvious! Secondly, we both started working together because of our passion for working with New and Newly Appointed Managers (or supervisors) of every age from every walk of life and from all over the world.
No college diploma or degree can prepare you for the real life task of 'Managing People'. These are Soft Skills that most people learn over time, but we have developed an approach to training these skills which is practical, fast and proven to work in the real world.
We are passionate about working with New Managers and Managers who want to refresh or develop their Soft Skills for People Management. This is where the biggest opportunity to make an impact is. We hope you will agree and join us on the journey.
