Some of my earliest memories take place in my grandfather's garden. We would walk around this magical place, snacking here and there on whatever was ripe at the moment, and listen to the birds sing. It's safe to say, I have loved gardens my entire life!
In 2012 I got serious about my obsession with gardening and became a master gardener. Since then, I have spent time volunteering in museum gardens as well as teaching a variety of classes including Advanced Master Gardener Training at the local extension office, and basic gardening classes at my library, the Botantical Gardens, the Flower and Nature Society... pretty much any place that will have me! I have spent a few years selling produce, but my real love is teaching others to grow their own.
I firmly believe that if you love to nurture plants, you're a gardener. You don't need to have a farm or massive garden to be a true gardener. Whether you lack space and are growing on patio, or you possess physical limitations that allow for container or a raised bed garden, you are a gardener! A little bit of dirt and a whole lot of love for plants are the only requirements. I hope you will follow me on this gardening journey as we both find joy in the garden.
