Tessa Pickard, MS, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for working with families after pre-term birth and/or medical complications. Tessa specializes in infant development as well as early childhood mental health and is credentialed as an Infant-Parent Mental Health Specialist and Reflective Facilitator in the State of California.
Tessa believes that the parent-child relationship is the most important influence to healthy social emotional development for children.Tessa approach uses relationship-based interventions that maximize developmental growth and healthy attachment formation between parents and children.
Born and raised in Washington, DC Tessa went on to earn her BA in Psychology from Middlebury College in Vermont and her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University in New York. Tessa has been working with children and families for the last 8+ years and currently has a private practice in San Francisco California where she resides with her own family. In her practice, she works directly with children and their families providing therapy as well as running parent groups and professional trainings throughout the Bay Area.
