Shawn is a former Primary U.S. Patent Examiner of the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). There, he searched and prosecuted various technology and software area patents for nearly a decade. He exercised full signatory authority to represent the USPTO to allow or deny U.S. technology patent applications, present Examiner's answers to the Patent Trial and Appeal Board in appeals, and more. He later worked as Chief IP Officer for a software company, architecting and managing from scratch an international IP portfolio of 100's of applications/actions.
