Award winning speaker and author.
Sean has worked as a teacher and trainer in Ireland, Australia and Africa. He holds a BA in Economics from UCD, a Masters in Management from NSW and a BA in Community Development from IT Tralee. He also holds teaching diplomas in Primary, Higher and Special Education.
As a Toastmaster, he holds several public speaking titles, including the British and Irish Humorous Speech title. He also has the distinction of having delivered speeches on all five continents. He has represented Ireland in debating.
Sean is the author of two books of humorous poetry, a novel and has published several short stories. He has twice won the Strokestown Poetry Percy French Prize and was runner up at the Bard of Armagh. He had published many short stories.
He is former Chair of Listowel Writers’ Week and represented the festival at the inaugural Los Gatos-Listowel Writers Week. He is a director of Tralee International Resource Centre and a guest lecturer in IT Tralee. He has served on the Board of Tralee Chamber Alliance and was amember of the Strategic Planing Committee of Kerry County Council for Culture Arts Recreation and Tourism during the planning and operation of the 1916 centenary celebrations.
Sean has delivered numerous workshops throughout the European Union on Development Education, from Lithuania to Portugal.
As country director for Gambia Ireland Volunteers in Education, he has run workshops on Quality Management and Communication for senior education officials in the country.
He is a frequent contributor to local and national radio.
