Sarah Barford

Pianist and Piano Teacher

In 2015 I quit my day job in pharmacy to do what I love: teach and play piano! I now teach out of my home in Akron, with my three fluffy canine assistants: Casper, Mocha and Ninja.

I am the vice president/president elect of the Summit County chapter of the Ohio Music Teachers Association (OMTA). Being a part of this organization means I have the opportunity to continually learn and improve my teaching.

I also enjoy performing for various events, including weddings and receptions.

Originally from Western New York, I’ve lived in Ohio, Iowa, and Missouri, before moving back to Ohio in 2012. My piano teachers have included Phyllis East and Mary Cobb at SUNY Fredonia. I am currently pursuing my Bachelors in piano performance at the University of Akron with Laura Silverman.

I also hold a Bachelors in Music Performance from SUNY Fredonia and a Masters in Music Performance from BSGU, both in the oboe.
