Samson Tilahun

Hi, I am Samson Tilahun. I feel a bit awkward telling you about myself. I would rather take every opportunity to tell you about Christ instead. However increasingly most of you, by the very nature of online education, have not met me in person. I'm a fellow follower of Christ, a husband to my dearest wife Betty Kassa. I worship the LORD with the saints at Emmanuel Worship Center. In this local church. I've served  in various capacities for over 18 years, such as leading Choir groups, playing music, teaching adult Sunday school classes, preaching and teaching. I've also served in the eldership team.

I have a Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) in Biblical and Theological Studies from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Louisville KY, and currently pursuing a Th.M. in New Testament.

I am passionate about expository preaching and biblical theology. I love to sing and make music. I enjoy videography and editing. I am no sport fan, but I love coffee. That must count for something. Even if I say 'Noooo!!', please still brew me one, I was just being polite...milk and sugar, please.

I hate cliché so much for I think they are depraved of content. Reducing God's self-revelation to one liners and much fragmentation of the truth, which is increasingly becoming common these days, domesticates God. They would reduce him to ideas. Thus, I strive for understanding. In all, my passion is to bear witness for Christ and testify of the majestic deposit of Truth that was given for the saints once and for all (Jude 1:3), which is the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I have a long way to go, and I fall short of that goal in many ways. Yet, “though I am not what I ought to be, I am not what I want to be, I am not what one day I hope to be in another world (when Christ returns); but still I am not what I once used to be, and by the grace of God I am what I am(John Newton (1725 – 1807, Author of the song Amazing Grace)

To God be the Glory!
