Rustin Coburn was born in San Francisco, CA and raised in Colorado with a love for adventure, the mountains, and art. He started his first clothing company in Steamboat Springs in 1999, and sold it two years later for a small profit. For the next several years Coburn traveled around Colorado and British Columbia pursuing snowboarding and working on ideas for a new company. In 2004, while obtaining his Bachelors Degree in International Business from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO he started DVLP Clothing. Coburn grew DVLP, a sustainable skateboard and art inspired cut & sew clothing line, by over 100% each of its first 5 years and by 2008 the company was selling in over 300 stores around the world.
After moving DVLP Clothing to Denver, CO in 2007, Coburn started to work on a new idea for a 'real world' training center to help build other peoples creative ideas into successful clothing companies. With the help of a few other industry professionals, Coburn founded the Denver Design Incubator (DDI) in 2009 (http://denverdesignincubator.org/). In early 2011, Coburn made the difficult choice to close down his clothing company due to changing economic trends.
For the next two plus years, Coburn managed the Sales and Marketing for Ink Monstr, a creative studio that specializes in large format printing, signage, installations, and graphic design. Coburn recently co-founded a new agency titled, Unfiltered. They currently do work as Business Consultants; specializing in Brand Strategy, Reputation Management, Sales, Product Design, Marketing, and Leadership for Unreasonable Adventures, Ink Monstr, Ruckus Apparel, Omerica Organic, Skate for Change and Mike Smith Live.
