Ross Campbell is a guitarist based in the UK. Over the past few years Ross has worked with musicians such as Mark Ronson, Jordan Harvey (Let It Shine/BBC), Dunkan Robertson (The X Factor/Britain’s Got Talent/Rod Stewart), Bryan Carter(NBC/Juilliard) and Annie Booth (Solo Artist/Mt. Doubt). In 2017 he is pursuing further work as a session musician and online educator in the UK and abroad.
Whether it’s a groove-laden RNB song, a staccato pop/funk jam, a heartfelt blues ballad or a blazingly fast country tune, Ross has the sensibility to play exactly what is needed for the track – no more, no less.
His highly expressive playing style has been influenced by high-profile guitarists such as John Mayer, Derek Trucks and Brad Paisley - as well as session musicians including the likes of Paul Jackson Jr (Michael Jackson/Luther Vandross), Phil X (Bon Jovi/Kelly Clarkson), Mateus Asato (Tori Kelly) and Brent Mason(Shania Twain/Alan Jackson).
Recently, Ross graduated with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Popular Music from Edinburgh Napier University, where he also works as a teacher to younger guitar students. He has spent the past four years at Napier training as a professional musician and making friends within the industry.
Ross uploads regular content to his steadily-growing YouTube channel, including all-guitar covers of chart-topping songs as well as music vlogs and guitar lessons.
His online presence has granted him several great experiences as a musician, including a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to record with a GRAMMY award-winning producer at Abbey Road Studios as part of an advertising campaign for the 2015 BRIT Awards.
In recent months Ross has also built up a rapidly growing following on instagram, where he uploads one-minute long clips of his guitar playing.
