Dr. Joseph Rene Corbeil, Professor of Educational Technology at the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley, has been involved in technology and distance education for over 35 years. He is the program coordinator for the 100% online, accelerated Master of Education in Educational Technology and the Faculty Lead for the doctoral specialization in Educational Technology. Research interests include best practices in synchronous and asynchronous communication, enhancing critical thinking through distance education, and developing and maintaining learning team collaborations in computer-mediated learning environments.
