About me
My name is Shimon Krut. I am 36 years old.
There are two things I love in this world. I love food and I love vegetables, and that's why I'm a Chef Gardener.
Everything started in 2011. That's when I began my thesis and my Masters Degree in Permaculture at Ben Gurion University.
In 2013 I wanted to actually practice what I was learning, and I did a Grow Biointensive course, which teaches how to grow a lot of vegetables in a small space.
In 2014 I travelled to 14 different states in the US and I worked on 14 different farms. In 2015 I started my own little farm in Moshav Tzippori in Israel. I started another farm in Moshav Noam in 2016/7 (Israel), and then in 2018, I settled in Havat Hanamura (Israel) which is next to Mount Meron. At Havat Hanemura I began a large vegetable garden.
Havat Hanemura is a bed & breakfast resort. So I began preparing meals (often gourmet) for the bed & breakfast guests- couples, families, and seminar groups, using produce straight out of the garden. I loved my work, and the guests loved the food! In 2018 I began a business, based on this concept of supplying meals directly from my gardens.
So this is my passion. I firmly believe sustainable gardening is the future of our children and the of the world. I think it's a wonderful thing to create, and a wonderful thing to eat food prepared by our own hands!
*II was born and raised in Israel, where I live today. I speak English as my second language- my native language is Hebrew.
