I have been studying writing for over 20 years. I have no degree in English or Writing but I can teach you more in an hour and a half with my 4 writing skills than any professor from any institution of higher learning.

A couple of years ago I put my writing techniques book aside, stopped attending writing workshops, blocked my critique partners' phone calls, and started analyzing stories myself and found a hidden pattern that opens up any story.

My teachers may have given me a lot of skills but no structure to hang them on and the same thing probably happened to you. I can share that structure with you.
