About me
Birth and early life:
My name is Mohamed Aslam Gafur. I was born and raised in the country, Guyana, South America. In Guyana, I have completed my early years and secondary school education. Since I was about four years old, my mother used to teach me essential Islaamic studies and how to read the Qur’aan. At the age of six, my mother enrolled me in a local Madrasah where I continue to progress in Islaamic studies, Qur’aanic reading, Qur’aanic memorisation and Qur’aanic writing. During my time at the Madrasah, I was enrolled in two national Islamic tests set by the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana. By the Grace of Allaah, I was successful in both of them. At the age of fourteen, I was enrolled in a three months residential Imaam programme at the Muslim Youth Organisation of Guyana which was also successful.
College and University:
In September 1993, I was enrolled in a two years Arabic language programme at the Islaamic University of Madeenah, Saudi Arabia. After that, I was accepted in the faculty of Islaamic Jurisprudence at the Islaamic University of Madeenah, Saudi Arabia.
In April 2001, I achieved an International Diploma in Business Management / Administration from Cambridge International College, Cambridge, UK.
In July 2016, I achieved an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in School from Barnet and Southgate College, London, UK
Work as an Imaam and teacher:
After my studies, I moved to England, UK where I was landed a job as an Imaam and teacher at the London Islamic Cultural Society and Muslim Cultural Society of Enfield. Approximately after eighteen months, I resigned from the Imaam’s job. However, I continued with the teaching of Students from the age of four to sixteen in the subject areas of Islaamic studies, Qur’aanic reading, Qur’aanic memorisation and Qur’aanic writing, Tajweedul-Qur’aan and Arabic language.
Work as a Curriculum writer:
In addition to teaching, I have written approximately twenty workbooks for students between the age of four years and sixteen years in the subject areas of Islaamic studies, Qur’aanic reading, Qur’aanic memorisation, Qur’aanic writing, Tajweedul-Qur’aan and Arabic language.
Present time:
I am teaching and writing more workbooks for students between the age of four years and sixteen years in the subject areas of Islaamic studies, Qur’aanic reading, Qur’aanic memorisation, Qur’aanic writing, Tajweedul-Qur’aan and Arabic language.
