The Story Problem Solver, Creator of Plot Control Software

Mitchell German is the founder of ReelWriting and creator of the software Plot Control with its “famed” Core Elements approach to building a story. He is a filmmaker, screenwriter, script doctor and screenplay consultant with 17 years of experience. He attended NYU Tisch School of the Arts and graduated in 1993.

Mitchell German is known for developing the screenwriting techniques known as the Thematic Gap and the Core Elements which serve as the foundation for the software Plot Control. His methods of screenwriting have literally created a buzz of their own when he released his original treatise called the “Thematic Gap” exposing how to properly integrate a theme into a screenplay/movie.

Mitchell German has sold, optioned, script doctored and consulted for dozens of companies and fellow writers. Some of the companies and producers he has done work for include Arrow Productions, Double Helix Films, Avnet/Kerner, Bayview Productions, Harbor Lights, Jacob Gardner Productions, Village Filmworks, I.R.S Harris, Golden Quill, AEI Entertainment, Regents Entertainment, Circle of Confusion, Tigre Entertainment, Shadowbox Pictures, Rocky Lang (Ridley Scott’s White Squall, Titanic TV miniseries), Producer David Gil (Blind Spot, Snowboard Acadamy, Night Kill, Joe).

In 1994 Howard Reichman and Mitchell German began working as script writing partners. Their first screenplay together titled “To Fly”, although never produced into a movie, was an overnight sensation and was seriously considered and nearly directed by Richard Donner, Arthur Hiller and Rocky Lang. The “success” of To Fly garnered Mitchell and Howard numerous opportunities to work as industry script doctors. Together they would write and script doctor four feature length screenplays.
