The New Zealand Federation of Family Budgeting Services operated as the professional body for the budgeting sector from 1973 to 2017.

The NZFFBS was responsible for training budget advisers, providing tools of trade (including a client management system), and creating links with external stakeholders like banks, finance companies and government departments.
