Mark has been a broadcast journalist for nearly 20 years, most recently as a freelance correspondent at CBS News. He’s a Peabody Award-winner for investigative journalism; a two-time recipient of the National Headliner Award, including its Grand Award; winner of six regional Edward R. Murrow awards and 12 regional Emmys, among other honors. His career has been distinguished by investigative and original reporting, and doggedly following the story wherever it leads: from Peru to Pakistan; Iraq to Kenya; and across the US, including to cover the ongoing pipeline protests in North Dakota, the Baltimore riots; the New York prison escape manhunt; Virginia Tech and Milwaukee Sikh Temple mass shootings; Sarah Palin’s 2008 VP pick in Dayton, OH; US-Mexico border security; and more.

In 2017, he joined with several other journalists to launch The Voyage Report, an online newsroom covering travel and transportation. He's been seen and heard on television and radio newscasts across the country, sharing insight and context on how to find airfare deals, TSA screening, the U.S. government's electronic's ban, and other issues.

He's traveled to 54 countries so far as a reporter and explorer and his goal is to visit every country on Earth!
