Louise Kluyts

I live in a small town, Heidelberg, in the western cape, South Africa with my husband Andre, a blacksmith, and our two kids with lots of cats and other animals to keep us company.

We are both creative people. We co-own Star Nation Art Studio and are open to the public.  I work in all mediums with oil painting being my medium of preference for my own work. I've over time developed a love of paper, inks and pastels.  My work is available for sale at the studio and online.

I've found that it is easier to get concepts across with the use of paper, inks and pastels, It makes the process easier and quicker.

We have an keep interest in creative endeavors. I've been an artist most of my life. Art runs through my veins. I've been teaching art for 25 years. Through the years I've come to realize that students gets better at life when they do art. I facilitate classes at the studio and online. I work with students from about 5 years old to the ripe old age of over 80. I've learned that one is never too young nor too old to start with art.

The 21 day art course was born in lockdown in 2020. I felt the need to do something to make life and transition easier for the world and the course was born.
