Humanitarian Consultant, Advocate, Author, Podcaster, Nomad
Logan spent a decade in 60-some countries on 6 continents as a humanitarian aid worker, senior-level advocacy advisor and consultant for major International Nongovernmental Organizations (INGO) like: International Medical Corps, Oxfam International, Mercy Corps, Action Against Hunger, and others.
He was the senior-most INGO representative in one of the largest humanitarian crises in the world coordinating and representing 36 prominent INGOs as their liaison to the United Nations; the diplomatic community and Ambassador Corps; major institutional donors; government ministries and the Vice President’s office; and the US Congress and Senate. He’s also held roles as the Senior Syria Crisis Regional Advocacy Advisor for Nobel laureate Handicap International overseeing Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Iraq, as well as senior-level multi-continental Global Consultant roles before the age of 30.
He was International Medical Corps youngest salaried expat aid worker staff in the world at the age of 23 as a part of their Disaster Response Team in Haiti. He’s also led marine conservation organizations and worked in sustainable development and Microfinance, and completed contracts in other countries like: Nigeria, Honduras, the Philippines, Cambodia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Logan is the cofounder Impact Matters, an author, a speaker, a lecturer, and host of the IMPACTivism Podcast. His academic background spans economics, business and philosophy at top universities on 4 continents, and includes an International MBA Fellowship he left behind just days after the 2010 Haitian earthquake that killed 220,000 people, as well as completed graduate-level studies in International Law and Organizing for Social Change.
He is a skeptical optimist and insatiable seeker, a daily campaigner for humanity, for animal welfare, for our environment, for applied rationality, and for effective altruism. Logan spends most of his time scrutinizing our positive intentions and proposing compassionately rational, impactful actions we can each take to better our world, one choice at a time. The rest of the time, you’ll find him rock climbing, trekking, combing a beach somewhere or working on the tiny house he designed and built from primarily salvaged materials.
If one quote defines his life, it's this one by E.B. White:
“If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.”
