About me

An accredited business advisor with considerable experience and enthusiasm for business. Laura combines strong financial experience with excellent interpersonal skills, commercial awareness and sound judgement. In 2018 she became a 'Distinguished Toastmaster' and is always delighted to MC, deliver short talks, or even a KeyNote address around Listening to Learn and Strategic Networking.

After working for several well known FMCG retailers, she held an senior exec role at New Look during two significant periods of transformational change. She then founded, ran and subsequently sold a retail business to become the MD of a multi-million pound fashion retailer. This business was in financial difficulty. When it became apparent that the turnaround was not going to happen, she saw the business through administration, then liquidation.

In 2000 she set up The Hidden Edge and worked on myriad projects. Since she has worked with entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses, sharing experience and knowledge through advising, coaching, mentoring and training. She has now successfully advised over 800 hundred businesses, helping them to find their routes to market, resolve their business issues and implement sustainable changes.

Encouraging enterprise & supporting entrepreneurs is her passion. She has an excellent understanding of governance, particularly in high growth potential businesses where she monitors the key performance indicators, creatively challenges perceptions and evaluates risk management.
