Karim Shokry is a contributing member of the American Society of Microbiology, a dedicated microbiologist and immunologist with 7 years of experience in the field. He received his master and PhD degree in Microbiology from Cairo university. The master thesis was about cloning and expression of breast cancer markers. The master thesis was a segment of an important research project about the use of gold nanorods in the treatment of breast tumors by plasmonic photothermal therapy. The PhD degree was about the study of Brucella infections in different animals and the fingerprinting of Brucella isolates from Egyptian camels. Another research interests include the study of Helicobacter infections and the evaluation of different diagnostic tools, phage therapy and microbiome studies. His work has been published in numerous high-impact journals.
In addition to his work as a teaching assistant, Karim is an active member of the university community. He has served on several committees and has organized and participated in various academic events.
