Jose Vargas was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised New Jersey. Jose grew up in a tough neighborhood where gunshots and drug deals were the norm. However, where most people saw crime, poverty and hopelessness, Jose saw an opportunity to inspire the youth of his city to rise above these circumstances and break societal expectations. Jose graduated from High School, Vocational School and attended the local Community College. At a young age, Jose began coordinating church and community events, drawing hundreds of young people from the city to share an inspiring story of Faith and Hope.
Jose is a motivational speaker, and has had opportunities to share at public and private schools, in churches, local businesses; encouraging youth and adults alike to strive to become all who they were created to be. In addition to speaking, Jose is an Ordained Minister, author of four books, and currently serves as a Federal Uniformed Police Officer with The United States Secret Service. He has worked details at the White House, Vice President’s Residence and currently serves The United States Secret Service as a liaison with The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Jose is married, has a daughter and lives near Washington DC.
