I've had a passion for programming since I was in high school. In the early 1990s I taught myself programming before I even had a computer!
I have a Bachelor of Information Technology with Honours and a PhD from Griffith University. My honours was on the topic of "Handheld Wireless Video Conferencing" where I built the first video conferencing system for commercially available handheld computers using Apple's Newton MessagePad (the precursor to the iPhone).
I worked as a software engineer for 3.5 years building a multimedia platform for early smartphones using Java, C, and C++. For the past 8 years I've been lecturing at Griffith University in the following areas: programming, mobile app development, and web programming.
My current area of expertise is iOS development and more recently using the Apple's new Swift programming language.
I have written a number of apps which have been successful on the App Store with 4+ star reviews and also manage an App Development business.
