I've been working in event management for over 10 years and have built a solid portfolio of event management experience - in particular working with youth and young people. My company, Spider Silk is Australia's most recognised event management agency for youth related activities.
One of the most successful programs I have implemented is called Big Air School and it's an action sports youth engagement initiative which travels around Australia delivering non traditional sporting events like skate, BMX & parkour. Big Air School has featured on Wide World of Sports and the Today Show and high profile events have included Etihad Stadium and Caulfield Racecourse as well as numerous trips to remote and disadvantaged areas like Oodnadatta in Central Australia and Nhulunbuy in East Arnhemland, Northern Territory.
With experience running national tours, festivals and creating national event innovations I've now decided to share some of the tips I've learnt along the way.
Last year (2014) I created and successfully delivered the first event National Skatepark Day and part of that program involved providing teaching resources to young people around Australia who were interested in running their own events. The feedback on these webinars was excellent so I have decided to improve the course and offer them to a wider audience.
