Jay Scovel has been a professional photographer for over 30 year. He owned a Photography Studio in Springfield, Missouri from 2000 to 2017. Jay got his start in photography at the age of 19 while serving in the United States Army. He brought his first SLR camera at a pawn shop out side of Fort Knox Kentucky. Jay soon found that he loved taking pictures.
After completing his tour of duty in the Army, Jay moved back home. His love for photography grew more with each passing day. So Jay enrolled with NYIP "New York Institute of Photography". From there he learned everything he could about photography. It was in 2000 that Jay opened his studio. At first he wanted to just focus on "Family Photography" but soon found himself doing more and more weddings. That lead to Jay running a successful Wedding Photography business.
Jay retied his studio in 2017, when he moved to Thailand. Jay's love for photography is still just as strong today as it was when he take his first picture at the age of 19. Today you can still find Jay wondering around Thailand with camera in toll. Jay has developed a fondness for macro photography and HDR photography. HDR and landscapes he finds look good together.
Jay has also started teaching photography online with "Udemy" and "SkillShare. He hopes that in some way others can learn and grow to love photography as much as he does.
