About me
I’m an IT professional with over 30 years of hands-on experience working across enterprise infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, and software support. My career has evolved alongside the industry itself—from early Windows and on‑prem environments through to modern Azure, AWS, hybrid identity, and virtualised infrastructures.
I’ve worked extensively across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support, often as the escalation point for complex technical issues and critical production problems. Over the years, I’ve supported hundreds of users and dozens of organisations worldwide, working across the UK, Europe, North America, Africa, and APAC in both internal IT teams and managed services environments.
My technical background includes Windows Server (2000–2022), Active Directory and Group Policy, Azure AD / Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Intune, VMware ESXi, Hyper‑V, SQL Server, IIS, networking, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint management. I’ve built, migrated, and supported full server estates, terminal server environments, hybrid cloud platforms, and fully managed Azure solutions.
Alongside infrastructure, I’ve spent many years supporting enterprise software and web platforms, including CMS products, bespoke web applications, and SaaS systems. I regularly worked at the intersection of infrastructure, applications, and databases—troubleshooting real production issues and working closely with developers, product teams, and customers. I have hands-on experience with PowerShell automation, C#.NET, VB development, SQL reporting using SSRS and T‑SQL, as well as PHP, JavaScript, ASP.NET, and Classic ASP, all grounded in solving real‑world production problems rather than theoretical examples.
Throughout my career, I’ve been strongly focused on mentoring, customer training, and knowledge sharing. I’ve coached junior engineers, trained end users, written documentation, and guided customers through migrations and platform changes—always aiming to make complex technical concepts clear, practical, and approachable.
On Udemy, my goal is to teach real‑world IT skills, based on decades of working in live environments. My courses focus on understanding how systems actually work in production, how to troubleshoot effectively, and how to build the confidence needed to succeed in real IT roles—not just pass exams.
