Jack V. Matson
Dr. Matson, P.E. is Professor Emeritus of Environmental Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University and founder of Matson and Associates Inc., an environmental consulting firm specializing in litigation support, in State College, Pennsylvania. Dr. Matson has a B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toledo and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Rice University. He is also a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Ohio. Dr. Matson worked as a consultant to industry in areas concerning environmental regulatory compliance, taught at the University level for almost thirty years, and served on the Texas Air Control Board. He has written a number of books including Effective Expert Witnessing, now in its 5th Edition.
Dr. Matson began as an expert witness in the mid-1970s and in the course of his career he has been deposed in over 100 cases and testified at more than 20 trials. He continues to serve as an expert witness in environmental litigation throughout the United States. Dr. Matson enjoys the forensic aspect of his expert witnessing work and is able to continue his love of teaching through his interaction with jurors.
