A doctor who used to suffer from chronic low back pain
Hi. My name is Gerardo. I´m a young doctor in my late 20´s.
I really like Medicine. I wanted to study it because I´ve always been fascinated about the functioning of people. I wanted to know how we all work and what can we do to make it better.
Since I began the Medical career, I became a Neurological Surgery assistant student. I entered in the Operating Room with the specialists and I helped them in everything I could as I learned lots of valuable things from them. I´ve always been a very dedicated student.
When I was 23 years old, something unexpected happened to me. I went with a friend of mine to play tennis. After an hour playing, I made a strange movement and I felt something “cracked” in my low back… I felt an intense pain and I had to call it off for the day… and for many others to follow…
I began to suffer from low back pain from that moment on.
After a couple of days with pain, this began to be something difficult for me and it began to affect me psychologically, since, until that moment, I never had any kind of restriction in my daily activities.
It was hard to get out of bed, it killed me to bend over a little bit to brush my teeth, it hurt when I walked, when I stood, and when I was sitting. (I couldn´t even have sex because of the pain!). This situation felt terrible.
I got an MRI to get a proper diagnosis and I was shocked to find out that at 23 years old I had two herniated discs: one in L5-S1, and a intravertebral hernia (Schmorl´s node). I also had degenerative changes in my spine that made it look like someone´s who is much older than me. My intervertebral discs were dehydrated, and many other changes.
The first few days I felt very sad and a little hopeless. I thought I had to live a life full of restrictions, and I also thought I´d just had to accept that I had to live with chronic pain, and learn how to deal with it, being very young.
Luckily, I was able to put my thoughts in order quickly, and I decided that I would do anything in my power to recover from this and live a life without limitations.
I wanted to work out and get in a great physical shape, I wanted to have a fulfilling sexual life and to be able to perform any kind of physical work, without having to suffer afterwards.
That is why I dedicated the next years to study everything related to back pain. I investigated from scientific papers to grandma remedies… Everything with a sceptic point of view, and with a lot of trial-error in myself. I focused my medical knowledge in improving my own health, so I could help others afterwards.
I tried a lot of things to find out which was the best way to follow in order to make back pain disappear. I´ve read a lot of books (medical, and non-medical), I´ve seen a lot of videos, consulted the most updated sources, done a lot of exercises, and after several years of intentioned investigation, I AM FEELING BETTER THAN EVER!
I did the homework and now:
1. I can run many miles (well, not so many J, but I´m getting better)
2. I can go to the gym.
3. I can stand for many hours.
4. I have a fulfilling sexual life.
5. I can be in the Neurological Surgery OR for many hours and feel great during all the time I´m there.
6. I have even lifted heavy weights (about 200 pounds) from the floor and carried them for a considerably long distance, and felt completely fine afterwards.
7. I graduated Summa Cum Laude, with honors, with pretty amazing grades.
8. I became a Neurological Surgery instructor before my graduation.
9. And I am always pain-free.
I realized that I was able to achieve my goals, and I´m sure you can do it too.
I´ve felt that others could really benefit from everything I´ve learned, that´s why I´ve put all the knowledge I have acquired in the last 8 years in the medical field in this project. I created a program to help you get rid of your low back pain for good.
It was easy for me to try all the different treatments and to evaluate their effectiveness, since back pain is the second most common reason for visits to the doctors´ office.
I see an average of 5 persons per day suffering from back pain. And I recommend all of them the methods that I describe in this book. And they get better! They get better very quickly. The better they do following instructions carefully; the sooner they get better.
I´ve spent a lot of time and effort building this program. I wanted to give something that really helps you get rid of your low back pain and become a healthier person.
I want you to get better, I know how much it sucks to feel bad because of some back pain that just won´t go away.
