The Empress of Evolution
Known by pseudonyms Fajr Scott and Oracle Bey, Dawn P. Scott was born July 23, 1976 in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a spoken word artist, published author, barber, master cosmetologist, salon owner, instructor, visual artist, tattoo artist, fashion designer, event coordinator, bbw model & creator of "Precious Products" - an all natural feminine hygiene product line. Dawn began her artistic journey at an early age, braiding hair for other little girls in her neighborhood and sketching fashion designs at the age of 9. In the 5th grade she was accepted into the Cleveland School of Arts. Oracle went on to be accepted into South High Schools cosmetology program during her 10th grade. Finally graduating from John Hay Honors High school at the age of 17, gaining her cosmetology license in 1998.
During her off and on college career, she studied Liberal Arts, Business Management and Fashion Design. Originally; she developed her own clothing line, Artistik Revolution, in 2007. The goal of the line was to bring awareness to the community about Political Prisoners here in the U.S. In 2009 Dawn coordinated a 2 day weekend fashion event called T.U.F Weekend (The Urban Fashion Weekend). In 2010; she went on to enroll into the Fashion Design Program at Virginia Marti School of Art & Design in Lakewood, Ohio. There she learned more styles & skills to assist her in achieving her goals in the field of fashion.
Since then; Oracle has been a featured designer for shows in Ohio, California, and Virginia. She has also collaborated to develop an educational coloring book company in 2012 called, Kulcha Coloring Books, in which she designed all of the puzzles and games. Dawn has published two books: P.U.M.A GIRL: Pray Until Miracles Appear, under the pseudonym Fajr Scott and Black Girl Majick: When Ghetto Girls become Goddesses, under the guise of Oracle Bey. Currently; Dawn owns and operates; The Get Right Barber & Beauty Salon, located in Hephzibah, Ga. The Get Right was established in 2017, two years after her relocation to the city of Augusta, Georgia. Included in the salon is an art gallery, tattoo parlor and community space to host events. Oracle also home-schools her son while operating the salon.
