Cynthia Dearin is an international business expert, author of Amazon best-seller "Camels, Sheikhs and Billionaires: Your Guide to Business Culture in the Middle East and North Africa" and keynote speaker.
She owns Dearin & Associates, an international business consulting firm specialising in fast-growing emerging markets.
Cynthia's experience working in emerging markets, has made her aware that businesses face three big challenges when they think about taking their business to a new country:
-Lack of cultural awareness - they don't know enough about the culture of the new country and they find interactions with clients and suppliers difficult and closing deals successfully even harder.
-Lack of commercial intelligence - they don't know enough about the new market to prevent them from making expensive mistakes. Sometimes also they lack a sound export strategy.
-Lack of contacts - they don't have access to the right networks in their target market and struggle to get the best service and results.
Cynthia specialises in providing companies with the commercial intelligence and strategies, cultural skills and trusted contacts that they need to succeed in new countries.
She is also a keynote speaker on the topic of global leadership and emerging leaders - subjects she is passionate about and in her spare time she lectures in the Faculty of Business, Law and Economics at Melbourne's La Trobe University.
