Cathy Morenzie was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She attended McMaster University where she fell in love with both the physical and physiological aspects of people. She graduated to become one of the first black fitness trainers in the country. Nearly thirty years later, Cathy is now a sought after personal trainer, author, blogger and presenter and has been a leader in the faith/fitness industry since 2008. Her impact has influenced thousands of people over the years to help them lose weight and develop positive attitudes about their bodies and about fitness.
Throughout her career, Cathy Morenzie, realized that true success for her clients had to be more than simply healthy food and exercise. They needed to deal with many of the underlying issues behind their weight gain, but if they hadn’t been able to surmount those mental and emotional hurdles so far, how would they now? Cathy dared to wonder if what had been missing from traditional weight loss methods was God. What she discovered was that it’s not enough to merely pray to be thin; that we must truly partner with God, asking him to reveal the spiritual roots of chronic weight gain, and then trusting in Him to provide instead of relying on own strategies to get by.
