I am a self-taught artist and I have been making art for over 30 years, and selling professionally for over a decade. I also work with children in the Montessori school system, where I get to provide one-on-one instruction, which is really satisfying for me.
My informal art education came from my mom (a terrific self-taught artist herself) as well as from various workshops, books, videos, and countless hours of experimentation and trial-and-error.
Whether I'm painting with watercolors, acrylics, oils, colored pencils or mixed media, I find great joy in playing with color to express myself. My art has been described as cheerful, bold, and whimsical.
I have painted everything from pet portraits, children's portraits, murals, faux finishes, children's book illustrations, greeting cards, and of course, fine art.
I have a strong desire to share the techniques I've learned with other creative spirits and to help encourage playfulness and enjoyment during the painting process.
My paintings and prints have sold to collectors around the country via my gallery presence as well as through online venues.
When I'm not making art I enjoy reading, spending time with my husband and two children, watching good movies, reading, taking long walks, and trout fishing.
