Bronwyn Becker Charlton, Ph.D., Co-Founder of seedlingsgroup, received her doctorate in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University and was a research scientist at New York University’s Center for Research on Culture, Development and Education. Dr. Charlton has published findings from her research on parenting and child development in prestigious journals and books, and lectured at professional conferences, schools, and public workshops. She is also certified in parent management training from the Yale Parenting Center. Dr. Charlton provides parenting support and developmental information to low-income mothers at Room To Grow; a direct-service program in New York City. She is on the executive advisory board of the not for profit Mount Sinai Parenting Center and is on the faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the Department of Pediatrics. She is also the mother of three young children, Olivia, Graydon and Helena.
Aliza Waksal Pressman, Ph.D., Co-Founder of seedlingsgroup, received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, and her MA in Risk, Resilience and Prevention from the Department of Human Development at Teacher's College. She then earned her Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the Columbia University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Pressman is also certified in parent management training from the Yale Parenting Center. She is the Co-Founding Director of the not for profit Mount Sinai Parenting Center and is on faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Pressman is the mother of two daughters, Penelope and Vivian.
Mariel Benjamin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York City with over 10 years of experience at Mount Sinai Hospital working with families and children. She received her B.A. and B.S. summa cum laude from Northwestern University and her masters degree in social work from New York University. In her role at Mount Sinai Hospital she oversees all postpartum and nursery patients, created and runs a comprehensive support program for high risk pregnancy and serves as a founding board member of Mount Sinai Parent, an organization dedicated to supporting working mothers and fathers. She is also the lead social worker collaborating with the newly formed Mount Sinai Parenting Center to design and implement programming targeted at new mothers in the hospital setting. Mrs Benjamin is currently training staff on child development and enhancement of clinical practice as part of the Mount Sinai Parenting Center's initiative. She has received multiple awards and recognition for clinical excellence and has presented at multiple national conferences on her work and expertise. she is certified in parent management training from the Yale Parenting Center and is a trained facilitator of Mind in the Making: The Seven Essential Life Skills Every Child Needs. She is also the mother of 2 young children.
Rebecca Kennedy, Ph.D. received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Columbia University, where she received specialty training in child development. Her research has focused on at-risk youth and the implementation of evidence-based practices. Outside of her work with seedlingsgroup, Dr Kennedy maintains a private practice where she sees individuals and couples. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and parent coaching. She is certified in parent management training from the yale parenting center. She is also the mother of 2 young children.
