Hi, I'm Amit Patel, a Leader in Software Development and a Coach, Mentor, Speaker, and Youtuber at heart.

Ever since I was, 10 years old, I have been fascinated with technology. Back then, I used to watch my dad tinker with our black and white TV to improve the picture quality. That got me interested in electronics and helped me in becoming a B.E in Industrial Electronics from the University of Pune.

However, I fell in love with programming in my fourth year of engineering. I learned 8086, C, C++, and Unix. Which led me to find my first job as a Customer Support Engineer in an Anti Virus Software Company.

But I wanted to get into programming, building software applications and software products that people would use.

So when my friends asked me, I said yes to building a Software Development Company along with them in 1997. In this company, I got a chance to build some 60+ software applications for 100+ customers in Manufacturing, Retail, Aviation, Marketing, and Logistics Industries.

This was the time when I built my expertise in Microsoft Visual Basic and .NET Technology. I became an expert in SQL Databases. Even today I can build any enterprise-level application using this technology stack.

After trying my hand at entrepreneurship for 11 years, I jumped into Leadership Roles within Software Companies. I started as a Technical Project Manager and quickly climbed the career ladder to become Head of Operations and Director of Software Development for an Enterprise CRM Software Company.

Here I was able to build, grow, and manage multiple engineering teams along with setting up the entire software development unit from zero to launch. I was responsible to recruit, train, manage and retain highly talented software engineers within this company.

Most of my 23 years of experience happened in Pune, India with a brief period of 3 years in Sydney, Australia. I have been to the US 6 to 7 times on Business Trips to meet with Customers in the Users Conference held by my company.

After this non-stop work of 23 years in the software industry, I took a sabbatical in 2017.

At present, I am a Coach, Mentor, Speaker, and Youtuber with a vision to help professionals & entrepreneurs to grow in their career within the Software Industry. I have a Youtube Channel called Musings by Amit.
