Alan Stransman is a television producer/writer/director, an author and publisher and an educator. He has undergraduate degrees in English Literature and Education from the University of Toronto and Queen's University, respectively, and graduate degrees in English Literature and Communications from the University of Western Ontario and Syracuse University.
Alan taught English and Film at the high school level before transitioning into the television production industry. As a producer/writer/director he created a number of award-winning documentaries as well as the 78-episode series, Spectacular Spas, which was broadcast in more than 50 countries worldwide.
In 2005, Alan founded one of the first day spas for men in the world in downtown Toronto, and wrote a book about the venture entitled, "Don't Let Your Dream Business Turn Into a Nightmare: A Cautionary Tale for Would-Be Entrepreneurs", which was adapted into a case study by the Ivey School of Business and has been taught in university entrepreneurship programs. He is also the author of "So, Why Have You Never Been Married?: A Memoir of Love, Loss and Lunacy", a comic and poignant chronicle of his adventures in the world of dating and relationships over a period of more than 30 years.
Alan has published several subsequent books through his publishing company Alan Stransman Publishing, and also creates educational and training courses for Udemy.
