My name is Kate Brown. I am a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph, and a Master of Urban Design Candidate at the University of Toronto.
I am passionate about licensure and dedicated to the professional development of students. In my third year of my undergraduate studies, I passed Section One of the L.A.R.E. The fruits of that endeavour included a guidebook, comprehensive practice exam, and innovative digital study tools. I have also served as a mentor to students with the ambition to begin taking the L.A.R.E. prior to graduation.
I have since teamed up with the Council of Landscape Architecture Registration Boards (CLARB) to communicate with landscape architecture students and perform cutting edge research in the field of licensure. It is through CLARB that I am able to deliver educational material and mentoring to students taking the L.A.R.E., through which critical data will be collected and contributed to innovative academic research.
