Description

Learn how to create an amazing augmented reality game in an hour! This is simply done by using Vuforia and its special toolset to help you quickly design a full-fledged game! Surprisingly, not many people have heard of this asset, and that's why we are here. This course is designed to help you integrate augmented reality into one of your games, or create a cool new game easily. To maximize your understanding of everything taught in this course, we recommend you to check out one of the beginners' guides on Unity's website. Finally, a finished copy is provided if you encounter any problems during the course.

Who is the target audience?
  • Developers with very basic knowledge of Unity, such as what most of the components are and how to use them.
  • This course isn't for you if you are looking for advanced 3D game programming.

In this video we will be downloading Unity step-by-step so that it is ready for us to create our project.

Preview 03:27

In this video we will quickly create our project and select the correct settings for this game.

Creating Our Project
01:25

In this video we will be setting up vuforia augmented reality, which gives us an AR camera and the ability to track different objects. For this course, we will only be tracking an image.

Developing the Game
6 Lectures 41:26

In this video we will be adding a platform that we will use the image target to control. There is a mistake in the video that I only caught later, and it is that a Rigidbody component should not be added to the platform as it will get a gravity function and fall out of the view of the camera.

Adding a Player-Controlled Platform
03:57

In this video we will spawning a Rubik's cube as one of our 3D objects. I made a mistake when i positioned the launchers directly above the platform. They should be a little farther back so that the 3D objects don't block the camera when they fall.

Spawning our 3D Objects
11:57

In this video we will be wrapping up the course by dropping another 2 3D objects (keyboard and basketball) and texturing our platform using an image as the material.

Finishing the Game: Adding Textures and More 3D Objects
17:18

In this video we will be building to our mobile device, specifically Android. I don't have a Mac to develop on, so I don't know the exact process, but I am pretty sure it's similar.
