At first glance Reiji and art therapy may seem strange combination but a very quick demonstration will open your eyes as to how these Choom can be used together for the benefit of the recipient. For this demonstration you're going to need a sheet of paper and some coloring pencils and also a basic writing pen. So if you wish on one side of the paper write how you're feeling. In this very moment it doesn't have to be an essay just a few words that describe your current mental and emotional stage and to be honest you're not going to share it to anyone after all. Now the next instruction. Very carefully turn the page over. Pick a pencil and start drawing. That's it. Just stroll. Don't focus on creating anything specific. Just immerse yourself in the process. Now it doesn't matter if you're not the next Banksy or Vango. In fact it is probably better that you're not as you're less likely to worry about the end result. After a few moments stop look at what you've produced and then turn the page over. Cross-out all the three things that no longer apply and Serko those that are more or less present than they were before you started drawing what you've most likely noticed is a reduction in negative thoughts and emotions and an increase in positive and relaxed ones. At this stage you're probably thinking well that's great but what has that got to do with Reiki. Well Reiki works by subtly changing or adjusting the flow of energy through you and within the body. As with most therapies it works best when the person receiving it is open to the possibility that is willing to accept that it could work. Using art therapy before a Reiki session helps to clear the mind reduce negativity and make the body and mind more open and willing to accept supports in turn. This improves the result of the Reiki session as well as providing the individual with a new and colorful relaxation message or coping strategy Reiki when practiced with experience and skill can reach its intended recipient over remarkable distances as well as being a hands on therapy art therapy techniques can be used to support the intended recipient in creating the peaceful state of mind during distance healing. That they would experience just as here they were in the same space as the Reiki. If the process of creating art for art's sake is repeated before and after sessions of Reiki over a period a change in the mindset of the individual should be recognizable in the work they create. Not only can this help the therapist to monitor progress and develop more closely linked sessions but it provides a safe space for the recipient to begin to understand their own thoughts feelings and reactions and how they're personally changing. If you're still unsure then try the following exercise and don't forget to record your thoughts and feelings both before and after the exercise. At the end of a long tiring day go home and try to undertake a meditation relaxation technique or if possible a session of Reiki. Now on another occasion remember and again to record your thoughts and feelings when you arrive home in a similar mindset. Grab paper and pencils or even a coloring book. Spend some time drawing and coloring and then try the meditation on which occasion did you relax the quickest which makes you feel more aware of the positive energies you are experiencing. Get others around you to try the same thing. Are you convinced now.
