English [Auto] Hey guys welcome back so we now have our pivot table. As you can see right here and it is empty we haven't put anything in it yet so we're now going to build it before I start talking about all the elements. I'm just going to walk you through a few things to know because if you click somewhere or some things disappear and I'll explain why. So as you can see this window on the right is our pivot table fields as you can see we have all the fields and got warrior war and battles. And as you'll notice that's the same as over here in these contains information in here. You just can't see it. That's why it's very important to have those field headings. Otherwise Warrier would not be in there. Now let's say you're a super super clumsy and I've done this before and you accidently close this. How do you get up back. Very very easy. You need to select anywhere inside this pivot table like so. And what you'll notice is these two new tabs appear analyze and design. If I click outside of that they're going to disappear. That's why you can't see them. So if I click there again anywhere in the I'm going to go to analyze and I'm going to go to the far right and I'm going to select field bliss and that will bring back the window. All right. So that's step one. Now the next thing is how do we actually introduce information into our pivot table. It's very easy. Let's do it. So it is essentially drag and drop. So we click warrior and we can click and drag and we put it in rows. We're not to worry about the rest of them at the moment. We're just going to put it in rows. And what you'll notice is it's gotten rid of the duplicate. This is what pivot tables does Dewes does. This is what it does. A groups share data so to already knows. OK I've got common data. What do you want me to do with it next. It's awesome. So let's say I go I want to see which wars these warriors have been in. So we go to war we click and drag and we put the underneath warrior. And as you notice it's group we can see. Bob has been in two wars. Gabrielle's life has been in for Luthor has been in three and nomadic has been in for. Now this is the power of pivot tables. Let me just minimize this I can see a bit more. Let's say I didn't want to see which wars they were each in. I want to know who was on each war. I can take war from down here. And bring him up. Bob warrior. I'll do that really slowly so everyone can follow click and drag Bob and your daughter is going to restructure itself. This is what's beautiful about a pivot table is that you don't have to manually build it. It automatically sorts and arranges for you. If you were to do this manually and your Bosco's Actually I don't want to see what each person does. I want to know which of who was in each war. You would have to manually reorganize the rows. That's really annoying. And when this data is real small This is like 13 records right. This is 30 rows of data. What if you had a hundred or five hundred or a thousand or 10000. Right. It's inefficient. This is why pivot tables is so powerful and very difficult to explain. At the beginning but once you see it in action that it's actually easy to move things around. It's for computer. Beautiful. So let's go rearrange that back and that's all I got to do is just clicking and dragging. That's all it is now it's what's beautiful about this as well as I can minimize. I go I don't really want to see what Gabriele's winners or losers. I'm only interested in Bob and the nomadic wizard so you can actually control these. Let's say you don't want that. It's very easy. We're going to go to the analyze tab again. You're right George. We're going to go here to the right and we're going to get rid of the plus minus buttons. Most the time I don't really use that because I want to see old data. So I just click on that and that gets rid of all those plus minuses. So I think we'll leave it there in the next form we're going to look at kind of the different views and what these other ones actually mean and we'll go from there. Hope you guys enjoyed it. I see it the next video too.
