Section 2: How You Talk To Yourself Matters
This lecture introduces the idea of internal dialogue (i.e. talking to yourself) and also introduces our fictional client "Suzanne" and her struggles with her inner critic.
In therapy this is often where I begin with most clients as many people pay no attention at all to how they talk to themselves.

5. Positivity. Repetition. Visualization.
|Quiz 1||1 question|

Section 3: What You Focus On Will Prosper

Continued discussion of effective tools to help you focus your energy on what will help you prosper and live a meaningful, happy life.
The 8 C's of Internal Family Systems: Compassion, Calm, Creative, Connected, Clarity, Courage, Curiosity, Confidence
Section 4: Loops
This lecture introduces the idea of loops. Loops are the repetitive patterns we encounter (and sometimes get stuck) that afford us opportunities to grow/mature/advance our lives by making choices that help us overcome old, negative, unhealthy patterns in new, different and better ways.
From birth to death we encounter loops in our lives.
There are three levels of loops:
1. Lower - Lower loops are characterized by addiction, mental illness, and suicidal thoughts.
2. Middle - Middle loops are where most people live. These are patterns we repeat on a daily basis that are comfortable but do not provide us with much vitality. We often digress in our lives to lower loops as a way to get out of these boring loops.
3. Upper - Upper loops are the most life-giving places we find ourselves where we want to move quickly through them because we know that our growth and transformation is powerful for living meaning lives full of vitality and joy.
Section 5: The Universe Is Listening
The Universe Is Listening
Rumi - The Guest House
In this lecture I tell a story about an bizarre occurrence that happened between myself and a client and how it hinted at a connection beyond what we could know with our logical/rational minds.
In this lecture I describe the phenomenon of how we often get what it is we want but rarely in the way that we want it. This confounding conundrum is often the source of angst in our lives. More often than not I believe this dilemma offers us an opportunity to reflect on the limits of our understanding and our need for humility when encountering situations. It also offers us an opportunity to reflect on what we think we want and be open to receiving what comes and not always trying to manufacture moments in our lives our of our sheer strength and determination.

Section 7: Bloopers
I received a Bachelors of Science in Banking & Finance from the University of Southern Mississippi. I moved to Nashville, Tennessee where I worked as an account manager for Vince Gill, Wynona Judd, Shawn Colvin, Frank White (Chicago White Sox) and Wimble Doubles Champion Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge.
I attended graduate school in Seattle, Washington in 2001 where I graduated with honors and received my Masters in Counseling Psychology. I chose to return to school because my passion was in connecting with people on a deeper level. I was often reprimanded by supervisors for having people in my office talking too long. It was evident years before that my desire was to help people navigate difficult times of their life and find meaning through a greater understanding of themselves
I have more than 13 years experience as a counselor and currently operate a full-time private counseling practice in Nashville, Tennessee where I help amazing individuals thrive in their life.
