Section 1: Introduction

A short introduction by Anne Clay

Anne Clay shows a few images from her portfolio.

Section 2: Inspiration and Taking Better Images

A look at some of Anne Clay's favorite artists, why she enjoys them and how they influence her art.

Some basic guidelines for taking better photographic images.

Not every picture makes a great digital painting. Watch as I both show and talk you through how I chose the image that I wanted to work with.

Section 3: Photoshop CS6 and Filters

Here I show you how to choose how to crop the image for maximum impact.

Watch how I use photoshop to change the color and the feel of the image through filters... it's like magic!

Section 4: Corel Painter

After we have completed working on our images in photoshop, we are taking it into Corel Painter to digitally paint the image.

After completing the building stones we are now moving on to the trees and the foliage in Corel Painter.

With the background finished, we are ready to move on to our hair and clothing. Watch as I paint them with Corel Painter.

We continue to paint the long folds of the fabric and touch up the face a bit in Corel Painter.

Back into Photoshop CS6 for the finishing touches!

A final and "tweak" makes this a beautiful work of art.

Section 5: Conclusion

I have created a beautiful piece of digital art right before your eyes using a model, a costume, a castle, a photograph, Adobe photoshop CS6, Topaz Filters, Nik Filters, Corel Painter 12 and a Wacom Tablet. I hope that you enjoyed this lesson! This is an advanced course presuming that you have some knowledge of the basic software mentioned above. Take your time and learn the steps!
