Syllabus

Simply put, dropshipping is moving products directly from the manufacturer to the consumer.

The dropshipper, aka retailer or merchant, does not physically house the products. The products are stored in a different location.

You can make as much money as you want doing dropshipping! There are merchants out there generating anywhere from $10/day to $1mil/day, it's up to you how much you want to make.

01:53

You need to stop thinking linearly, and start thinking exponentially. You can make $65,000/year working for a company, or you can make $65,000/day working for yourself. It's up to you what you value.

The reason you're watching this course is because you don't just want to make money, but because you want freedom. Freedom of time, freedom of money, freedom of life! I've hand-picked a couple of videos/books to help guide your thinking as you navigate eCommerce.

Themes are one of the most crucial aspects to your store. The look and feel of your website can make or break your store, so make sure it stands out and looks good!

Some tips to keep in mind:

  • Your main product photo should be large (the user should also be able to zoom in for more detail)
  • Secondary photos should be listed underneath the main photo so that you page is easy to navigate
  • We will get to more aspects of your theme later

Your Facebook Business Page is where a lot of your traffic will come from (if you choose to advertise your products on FB). So, it is important that you have a solid logo and cover photo to catch users' attention.

Bonus: Make the name of your Facebook page your domain name (ex. stefanshop.com) to build SEO authority and to remind your users that you have an online store. Every detail counts!

Facebook Ads Manager is the main dashboard for managing, creating, and duplicating your advertisements.

The manager is broken down into 4 different columns:

  1. Account Overview - a birds-eye view of your advertising account
  2. Campaigns - Each campaign is a different advertising concept (ex. Shoe Campaign)
  3. Ad Sets - Each ad set is a different topic underneath the campaign (ex. brown shoes)
  4. Ads - Each ad is a different sub-topic underneath the ad set (ex. brown shoes for women)

As you become more familiar with how the dashboard works, you'll be able to launch campaigns more quickly and effectively.

Your Facebook pixel for Shopify tracks how far the users have gotten into your conversion funnel. The farther they've gotten, the more likely they are to make a purchase.

The funnel goes like this:

          1. Website Content Views (people who have seen your product page)

                    ▼

                    2. Website Adds to Cart (people who have added your product to their shopping cart)

                              ▼

                              3. Website Purchases (people who have purchased your product)

  4. Loox - Add reviews to your page + create buyer confidence
  5. Mailchimp - Send emails and marketing information to your previous customers
  6. Refersion - Affiliate marketing to track your affiliates and pay them commission on your items sold
  7. RetargetApp - Send re-marketing campaigns to people who've visited your products
  8. Welcome Header Bar - Add a header with promotions and discounts at the top of your page

III: Finding products to sell on your eCommerce Store
3 Lectures 18:00

I use a couple of methods to find good products to sell on Shopify:

  1. Crystal ball method
  2. Liking/following a bunch of pages
  3. Using Myip.ms to find trending sites
  4. Using Alexa.com to estimate revenue and number of site visits

Product-market fit is matching the right product to the right consumer. People only assume you can can either:

a) find a product then find the right market (ex. I want to sell a tennis ball. I should probably market this to people who enjoy tennis)

or

b) find a good market then find a product to sell them (ex. Dog lovers are a great market. I should probably sell dog collar to this market because they love dogs)

Although both a) and b) are great ways to go about making money in eCommerce, what I personally prefer is focusing on the problem, need, or want and then finding the product-market fit.

For example, tying my shoes is a real pain (problem). Perhaps I can find a way to solve this problem by selling a laceless shoe (product) to people who are lazy (market).

THEREFORE:

  • Product
  • Market
  • Problem/Need
  • $$$$$$$$$
What is product-market fit and why worry about it?

Deciding between dropshipping from China vs. locally is a great question to ask yourself.

For me, I like to TEST, then INVEST.

In other words, I test the market first by creating an ad, dropshipping off of AliExpress, and if the product is doing well, I then import and fulfill locally.

Should I dropship from China or locally?

Learn how to set up your Facebook campaign in minutes! Although it looks daunting, it is relatively easy!

The main things to keep in mind:

  1. Campaign: 3 types of campaigns to choose from
    1. Awareness: make your brand name known, good for local companies and reaching a lot of people
    2. Consideration: generating leads, getting video views, get traffic to a website/page
    3. *Conversion: get people to make a purchase on your website and/or visit your store.
      1. This is the main campaign type we will be using
  2. Ad Set: usually contains 3-5 sections for a specific topic
    1. Conversion: Choose what type of conversion you want people to perform
    2. Audience: Choose which audience to market to
    3. Placement: Choose where to market your product
    4. Budget/Schedule: Choose when and how much you will pay for marketing
  3. Ad: 2 sections for a specific sub-topic
    1. Format: Choose which type of advertisement you will create (carousel, video, photo, etc.)
    2. Page & Links: Choose the source Page you will market your product from

That's it! 3 sections is all it takes to create your first advertisement on Facebook.

Automatic Bidding

  • How does it work?
    • Auto bidding means you don't bid for your conversions. Instead, you set a budget and let FB's algorithm do the rest. It's easier to implement. All you do is set it and forget it.
  • PROS
    • You don't have to worry about constantly optimizing your advertising campaigns
  • CONS
    • You can over-spend your ad campaign if you don't monitor it

Manual Bidding

  • How does it work?
    • Manual bidding allows you to bid on your website views, add to cart's, and purchases. You can set the bid to either Max or Average. NOTE: just because you set your bid to a max, doesn't mean Facebook won't go over on your budget. Facebook's algorithm takes time to figure out the correct audience/demographic.
  • PROS
    • You typically won't over-spend on your budget
    • You can control how much $ is spent on each campaign
  • CONS
    • There is a chance that Facebook will over-spend on your budget as it works to optimize your campaigns
    • You must have more patience than Auto-bid because Facebook has to find the right audience and demographic

Automated Rules

  • How does it work?
    • Automated Rules is my all-time favorite. This feature allows you to automatically set if --> then constraints for your Facebook ads (e.g. IF I spend $50 on this campaign without a sale, THEN close my campaign)
  • PROS
    • You don't have to be afraid that FB spends over your budget because the Automated Rule is computer generated and will close automatically
  • CONS
    • You must wait until the next day for the rules to be put in place
What's the diff. between Automatic/Manual Bidding?

Creating Look-A-Like audiences for your campaigns is one of the most powerful tools to use when scaling your campaigns.

In a nutshell, LaL's allow you to mimic a similar audience from a target audience (ex. people who've purchased your product before) so you can sell more of your items to the most similar buyers.

Facebook is just ONE marketing platform out of 1000's that you can use!

As accurate and effective as Facebook is, here are some of the other platforms I recommend:

Famebit: Find influencers to market your products on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/YouTube

  • Go here for a promotion --> https://famebit.com/b/stefandjordjevic

Reddit: Market to certain subreddits at very cheap CPCs!

Instagram: Either through FB Business Manager or through Influencer Marketing

YouTube: Create videos to show during commercials

Google: Create Google campaigns in AdWords or AdWords Express
