How do I open a Shopify Store?
Starting a Shopify store is very simple. Head over to shopify.com and create an account using the 14-day trial period. This will allow you to test items in your store before you have to start paying Shopify the monthly fee of $29/month.
Themes are one of the most crucial aspects to your store. The look and feel of your website can make or break your store, so make sure it stands out and looks good!
Some tips to keep in mind:
Your Facebook Business Page is where a lot of your traffic will come from (if you choose to advertise your products on FB). So, it is important that you have a solid logo and cover photo to catch users' attention.
Bonus: Make the name of your Facebook page your domain name (ex. stefanshop.com) to build SEO authority and to remind your users that you have an online store. Every detail counts!
Facebook Ads Manager is the main dashboard for managing, creating, and duplicating your advertisements.
The manager is broken down into 4 different columns:
As you become more familiar with how the dashboard works, you'll be able to launch campaigns more quickly and effectively.
Your Facebook pixel for Shopify tracks how far the users have gotten into your conversion funnel. The farther they've gotten, the more likely they are to make a purchase.
The funnel goes like this:
1. Website Content Views (people who have seen your product page)
2. Website Adds to Cart (people who have added your product to their shopping cart)
3. Website Purchases (people who have purchased your product)

I use a couple of methods to find good products to sell on Shopify:
Product-market fit is matching the right product to the right consumer. People only assume you can can either:
a) find a product then find the right market (ex. I want to sell a tennis ball. I should probably market this to people who enjoy tennis)
b) find a good market then find a product to sell them (ex. Dog lovers are a great market. I should probably sell dog collar to this market because they love dogs)
Although both a) and b) are great ways to go about making money in eCommerce, what I personally prefer is focusing on the problem, need, or want and then finding the product-market fit.
For example, tying my shoes is a real pain (problem). Perhaps I can find a way to solve this problem by selling a laceless shoe (product) to people who are lazy (market).
Deciding between dropshipping from China vs. locally is a great question to ask yourself.
For me, I like to TEST, then INVEST.
In other words, I test the market first by creating an ad, dropshipping off of AliExpress, and if the product is doing well, I then import and fulfill locally.
