I'm sure you will love this course!
So, what is the challenge of this course?
The course is not intended to train you to become a Grand Master of Memory, altough, if you will be motivated and determined enough , you'll probably be able to successfully participate in any memory competition.
This lecture present on overview of the memory systems and methods.
The Dominic system is a technique for memorizing long sequences of numbers or playing cards, created by Dominic O'Brien, a British mnemonist (eight time World Memory Champion) and an author of memory-related books.
The Person-Action-Object System (or "PAO" System) is a popular method for memorizing long random numbers or decks of playing cards. The PAO system is similar to the Dominic System (person-action) but it adds an object to the images.
The creator of the Ben System is Ben Pridmore, a British mnemonist who has won the World Memory Championships three times. Ben is also multiple world record holder and holds the record for the most memory competitons attended.
Ben System is a variation of the Major System, which I introduced in my previous course.
Binary numbers used in memory competitions are large sequences of the digits 0 and 1 arranged in an arbitrary sequence. You will learn about the binary digits memorization systems.
Memory experts have tried various systems and methods to help their memory for names.
In this lesson, you will learn the best methods for remembering people's names.
This lecture present on overview of the playing cards memory systems.
Although the Dominic system is a method for remembering long sequences of numbers, it can also be used to remember other sequences such as the order of a deck of playing cards. This works by establishing some method of systematically converting the cards into memorable images.
The Person-Action-Object System (or "PAO" System) is a popular method for memorizing multiple decks of playing cards.
What is the advantage of this system, compared to the Dominic and P.A.O. systems?
With the Dominic system, you need a 26 stages journey to memorize a deck of cards.
With the P.A.O. system, you need a 17 stages journey to memorize a deck of cards.
But the Ben System only requires 9 stages to memorize a deck of cards, so it is one of the most efficient card memorization systems, a true nuclear arsenal of memory.
A true Olympiad of the brain, the World Memory Championship has taken place annually since 1991.
The WMC is a decathlon of ten different events, with 6 different kinds of information: numbers, playing cards, historic dates, random words, names and faces and abstract images.
In this lesson, I will show you what these disciplines are and how they are scored in the world memory championship
After presenting all the memory techniques, we can now make an analysis that will allow us to understand the advantages and disadvantages of each method, and how to choose the right method for each memory test.
As I have shown in the first part of the course, memory improvement has been a permanent human concern since ancient times. It has been referred to as “one of the world’s oldest professions”, and in history there have been people who have achieved amazing performances in this area.
Besides historical evidence, recent studies suggests that memory training does really work. These studies have also demonstrated the link between memory and intelligence
After learning what memory training is about, in this lesson you will see some examples of tranining schedule, from the most known memory experts.
Find tips and resources for training your memory.
I will just give you some tips along with some examples of resources, but you will have to search until you find what suits you.
Discover tips and tricks from the memory experts, that can help you to use this techniques more effectively.
