Yes i understand that what i have just written is a very big claim. There are literally hundreds of books, videos, DVD's and courses on acupressure so what makes this so different to all of the rest?
I have been an acupuncturist and pain specialist for more than 25 years and have helped thousands of people throughout the world. I have looked at so many acupressure courses and kept seeing so many, what i believe, are glaring problems with them so i felt compelled to design my own course that would be so complete that people who do the course would be able to not only help their clients, friends, partners but also themselves.
So what makes my course so different?
In this course you will learn a methodical, systematic approach to treat each condition just like I do in my spa-not simply learn a few acupressure points and basically just hope for the best which the majority of courses and books tend to teach.
We deal with lower back pain and sciatica, neck pain, upper back, shoulder and knee pain. Each painful condition is structured so that you know exactly how to treat your client/friends/family or yourself.
Firstly, you will ask questions about the person's pain so that you gather information about the symptoms/severity etc so that when you see them the following time you can then ask how they have progressed and how their pain is since you last saw them. Or if you are treating yourself you will be able to assess your own progress.
2. Address and remove the causes of the pain.
This is such a vital step which hardly ever is addressed!
Let's say that you or your client/partner/friend has lower back pain and/or sciatica. You do some acupressure and give the person some temporary relief but the pain keeps coming back and you have no idea why.
Well, have you addressed what is causing their pain in the first place?
No...Probably because firstly you have no idea what causes it so the person continues to harm their backs every day and therefore remain in pain.
In this course you will learn exactly what are the major causes of neck, back, shoulder and knee pain and even sciatica and will then be able to remove the causes!
3.Treat the affected areas with acupressure and other specific soft tissue release techniques
In this step you will be taught extensively how to treat each condition using both acupressure point techniques, trigger point release and other soft tissue techniques to decrease tension, create better blow flow and nutrients to the affected areas. You will learn how to use correct posture, correct depth, how long to treat for , how often should you treat, and so much more!
4. Differential Diagnosis
Here is another incredibly important step! Let's say that you or the person that you want to treat has a painful shoulder. You treat the shoulder but the shoulder shows no improvement. You have no idea why. What if the shoulder pain is not coming from the shoulder but it is actually being referred from the neck? That's right! It is actually a neck pathology that is referring pain to the shoulder. So you need to treat the neck not the shoulder. How do you know? I teach you very simply how to detect where the pain is coming from.
Once again, this is such an important step to becoming pain free and i see time and time again people doing the wrong stretches which actually worsens their problem. For example, if a person has lower back pain and/or sciatica due to a disc bulge(almost all sciatic nerve related problems are related to L5-S1 disc problems) then the last thing that you would want to do or advise the person you are treating is to do forward bends, knees to chest exercises and lying on your back bringing your leg across your body-it will worsen your problem. I teach you the exact exercises that have helped tens of thousands of people worldwide for each condition!
6. Self acupressure and trigger points release techniques for home
Here you learn how to self treat at home using very simple things that will keep you pain free. I also teach the benefits of foam rolling which is another fabulous method to keep your muscles loose and pain free!

In this lecture i explain what we are going to be doing throughout the course and the reason why i personally feel that so many courses on acupressure and pressure point therapy are so lacking and why this course will take your therapy that much further when it comes to helping your clients.

In this lecture, i talk about the various treatment surfaces that you can use varying from a futon, a massage table, a bed, or even a chair.
So before we get started let's take a look at what we know about how acupressure works from a Western medical perspective and how we are actually affecting the body.
It is very important to apply the correct pressure so here i explain what you need to be aware of. Too little pressure and your treatments will have little effect and too much pressure will also be problematic. You must also be aware of the person's age, fragility and physical condition.
It is vital that when you start treating people you use correct techniques. If not, very soon you will be in worse condition than your client. I go through step by step what you MUST do when treating so that you can effectively treat clients again and again without fear of injury.
Here is a look at the correct and incorrect ways to perform acupressure. As for any massage technique it is vital to perform them correctly otherwise you will not last long and have injuries which will be very hard to overcome if you get busy.
You will find that just using your thumbs will be tiresome at times so here are a few alternatives that you can use especially if you need to treat large people.
Here is what you need to do to treat ankle pain, sprains and strains.Here we look at dealing primarily with ankle sprains-the most common ankle pain. I teach you not only the acupressure points but also what you need to do to treat an ankle sprain from taping to rehabilitation exercises.
OK, let's jump straight into the deep end!
If you are seeing people this will be the most common painful condition that you will treat. More people suffer from lower back pain than any other musculoskeletal condition.
This is a big area to cover but it a job worth doing is worth doing properly.
It is important for you to get an understanding of the pain, the location, intensity etc before you see a client. Of course, you may skip this but if you are serious and certainly if you have paying clients you will want to get a clear picture of their condition. This is obviously not a complete guide and always always refer on to a Physical Therapist, Doctor etc if you are in any doubts.
The Hippocratic oath remember is "Do No Harm"
Here is an excerpt from my back pain course to teach you why the overwhelming majority of people suffer from lower back pain.In order to help your clients lower back pain(or yours) you first need to remove the causes of lower back pain. OK, now it's time to get down to doing the acupressure for lower back pain and sciatica.
Although i have focused on acupressure and trigger point release to treat people therapeutically in this course i wanted to give you more treatment techniques so that you can combine what you want to achieve the best results.
For example, you have someone with lower back pain so you do the lower back acupressure techniques as you have been taught and also do the deep tissue massage techniques as well!
My thinking is this, if i can give you a larger 'therapeutic toolset' then you have not only a wider range to use on your clients but also have an even bigger impact on getting people pain free.

Probably the most common problem when it comes to people that suffer from lower back pain and/or sciatica is that they don't know what exercises to do and more often than not do exercises that actually make their problems worse!
Teach your client these exercises for them to do at home.

In the course i talk about using acupressure on the bladder channel on the back. Here are some charts to give you a better understanding of the point's locations.
You will also see the points that i use in the lower back sciatica section on the legs which are UB 36, UB 40 and UB 57.
Again, at the base of the skull, in the neck section you can see the points there as well in the charts. Like i tell you in the course, there is no need to get overly bogged down in the points. A simple understanding as to where they are in sufficient. You will be very effective in treating people with all of the techniques and knowledge that i teach you to get them pain free.
Here are some charts that show trigger points locations. As I mention in the course, you are going to have an effect on helping the person's pain whether you press on acupressure points, trigger points and ashi points. Ashi points in Chinese medicine are simply points that are painful. So, as you work the persons muscles, if they tell you that you are on a particularly painful point give it extra work(keep pressing on it for a longer amount of time).
Apart from the acupressure, once again removing the major cause of neck pain is imperative. Here i show you the major causes of neck pain and also corrective exercises along with the acupressure techniques.

We are going to use a variety of soft tissue techniques as well as acupressure and trigger point techniques to release the neck and upper back muscles
Here are more great neck techniques that you can utilize on your clients to help with their neck pain. Personally, i would use the acupressure techniques first and then the back and neck deep tissue techniques and you will really get great results!
These are the only exercises you will need to do. Do not do any other neck exercises whilst you are, or your client, is in pain..just these two.
When it come to treating shoulder pain there are several things that we need to address first. Is the pain coming from the shoulder or is it coming from the neck?
You can imagine how useless your treatment will be if you are treating shoulder pain as a shoulder problem when it is actually shoulder pain that is being refereed due to a neck problem.
When you see your client it is important to question them about their shoulder so that you not only get an understanding of their problem regarding how long they have had the pain, how severe it is, if certain movements make it worse or better, etc.
Then when you see them the following visit you will be able to see if they have improved or not based on your initial treatment.
It is vitally important that you work out where the pain is coming from so that you know what treatment to do. If you are not sure if it is a neck or shoulder problem simply do the treatment for the neck and the shoulder and give the person both the neck exercises and also the shoulder exercises. Then you will get both.
OK, so of course we need to know what the causes of shoulder pain are. Here i explain the major causes and ways to counteract certain actions that are injurious to shoulders. I also show a simple stretch to do if you do need to do a lot of work with your shoulders to help them further.
We want to do acupressure throughout the upper back and shoulder region even if it a shoulder related problem because so many muscles are involved. If you found that the shoulder pain is stemming from the neck then do the neck treatment and give them the neck exercises. If you are not entirely sure where it is coming from still, do the neck and should treatment and give them both the neck exercises and the shoulder exercises.
I have simplified the shoulder stretches to a minimum using a couple that work for almost every should problem. I also give you a nice way to get your clients to work on their shoulders at home in between treatments.

This is one of the best stretches to help virtually all shoulder problems. It is simple, easy to do and can have miraculous results!
Upper back pain is a very common condition and here is a really effective way to help treat this. It is very often caused by the forward head position and spending too much time at the computer without a break.
When you see your client it is important to question them about their upper back so that you not only get an understanding of their problem regarding how long they have had the pain, how severe it is, if certain movements make it worse or better, etc. but you can the reassess them on their return visit
Work over and over this area with your techniques and your client will be in 7th heaven.
This is a great technique to loosen the vertebral joints. They get so stiff being in a static flexed position especially in front of the computer so here we do the opposite motion putting the thoracic spine into extension and of course don't forget the tennis ball technique!
Knee pain can also be treated effectively through a variety or treatments. We once again look at what techniques and points to use but also which rehab exercises are necessary for a full recovery
When you see your client it is important to question them about their knee pain so that you not only get an understanding of their problem regarding how long they have had the pain, how severe it is, if certain movements make it worse or better, etc. but you can the reassess them on their return visit
There are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to what causes knee pain. Obviously if you wrench or twist you knee then you will know about it but many knees become painful without any major incidents. Here i explain in detail why this occurs.
Now it's time to use soft tissue techniques and acupressure to help the knee pain.

So what about treating your own pain? After all, you need to be pain free to treat other people. Here is a summary of what you can do-which by the way is exactly what i do, it seems even though i have a spa with my therapists, receiving treatments are few and far between.
One of the most poorly understood and most often asked question i get is whether to ice ice or heat to help your pain. Here i clear up this issue.
Here is a list of foods that both help with pain and inflammation and others that cause inflammation. It is important that you try to do your best at eating well to give yourself the best chance of becoming pain free quickly.
