A Complete Master Class for Restaurant Owners and Staff
Like never before, restaurants are under attack; fake reviews, minimum wage issues, high overheads, food preparation and supply management.
Some restaurant owners know how to manage and market their online reputation, but most don't. What are their options? Hire a firm, or their neighbor's kid, or do it themselves.
But where do restaurant owners start? Who can they turn to? Where can they get real, hands-on training on how to take control of their online reputation? Well, we have heard their concerns.
This course answers the 5 major problems that restaurants face in relation to reputation, and answer the 10 major questions that most restaurant owners consistently ask.
We kick off your journey with this how-to video. It introduces you to the structure of the course and the best way to tackle it. This course is big, but you are getting your money’s worth. We cover all the steps of the process. Be prepared to be the resident expert!
On Day 1, we learn that Reputation is much bigger than just ratings and reviews. I introduce you to a concept that I call “Holistic Reputation”. It’s really the key to all of this.
On Day 2 we learn how all the parts of a Holistic Reputation are put together, and which ones are helpful to you and which ones are dangerous!
On Day 3 we examine the statistics (no, no, don’t groan!). It’s important that I prove to you that your restaurant is at a HUGE disadvantage. You need to know what you are up against.
On Day 4 we take a sober look at what makes review sites work. They are crowdsourced, they are ego-centric and they are almost untouchable. We look at how we fit in.
On Day 5, we learn about digital assets and the types of assets that are vital to our Holistic Reputation.
On Day 6 we look at cleaning up our web space. We do a few short manual tasks to get a great idea what is out of order and needs cleaning up. I show you some quick techniques and give you some hands on demos for tools.
On Day 7 we dive into the exciting topic of images and video. It might seem like we are bouncing around between unrelated topics, but what we are doing is getting all the components, or ingredients, together and will be putting them all together very shortly.
On Day 8 we discuss search engines, and most specifically, Google™. With a carefully constructed Google™ profile, it will help Google™ place you correctly on its search results. Hopefully in a lucrative poll position!
On Day 9 we learn about the 4 key social media sites that I recommend you sign up for. They are free, and they are little goldmines when it comes to engagement and building your online reputation.
On Day 10, I release you to do some manual work on your own. I of course show you what to do, but this is the first big step toward YOU taking control of what is YOURS. We will call you CHAMPION after you are done!
On Day 11, we take a look at ways to set up a system that will ‘listen’ to the internet for us. All automated, so that we don’t have to stress over it. Sounds like gold, right?
On Day 12, we learn that its completely valid to hire someone to do this work for you. Frankly, you’re the boss, you know where you can devote time and where you can’t. My job is to show you what needs to be done, how you can do it yourself, and if you don’t have time and neither does your staff, how to pick the right firm for you.
One Day 14, we look at how we can change our psychology of reputation, what generates feedback, and how we should strategically respond to this feedback.
On Day 15 we set some ground rules for how we provide feedback. Please take this seriously.
On Day 16, we discuss a topic that many restaurant owners are super focused on and many of the reputation professionals in the industry cater to: online reviews, bad reviews, Google reviews, etc. Let’s bring you to the point where you really understand negative reviews and how to respond. Professionally, calmly, and strategically.
On Day 17, we cover a topic that may be near and dear to you: handling a very bad online reputation. First of all, if you are in this position, I genuinely feel for you. This lesson is for you. It is a simple, straight-forward approach that cuts through the BS so you can get down to saving your restaurant. If you need additional advice on this subject, do not hesitate to contact me through my support email. It’s my goal you recover from this. Your success is my success! Google reviews, yelp reviews, Tripadvisor reviews do not need to destroy you. Take control and take back the power.
On Day 18, we discuss a topic that very few in the industry cover: celebrating positive online reviews. We know that awesome reviews means they are fans. We all love fans. We are going to see why it’s important to celebrate positive feedback and some creative ways to do so. And I threw in some goodies to help you get started.
On Day 19, we take the role of a new restaurant; either a start-up or a new location for an established restaurant (I guess that makes you a ‘restaurant chain’. Congrats!). We need to follow these simple steps to ensure your restaurant reputation starts out on in the right path.
One Day 20, we discuss outsourcing again. But this time I discuss hiring a premium firm. We discussed hiring someone, or a firm, to do the citation work for us, on Day 12. Now we look at what is involved in having someone do Reputation Management and Reputation Marketing. So, essentially everything!
On this final day of the 21 Day Bootcamp, you will learn about how to DO MORE. That is the secret to a holistic reputation. It goes far beyond how many 5 stars you have, or how many reviews you get. We learn about our geographical location on the search engines and how to build a holistic reputation outside of those vehicles.
Who am I: First and foremost, I am driven to help people. I have a heart for the underdog and under-privileged, and I hate the statistics that show small businesses tend to fail more than they succeed. For exactly this reason, I have founded the Start Grow Master Academy. Tools and training to help turn those statistics on their ear, and to give struggling business owners a better chance. There is still a lot of work to do to build this Academy, but you get to join the adventure!
If you have expertise in areas that will assist your fellow business owners, let me know, I would like to discuss it further. Many hands make light work right?
My Career: I have worked for over 20 years in the IT field, where I had the privilege of working with medium and very large corporations in Canada, USA and around the world. My core competencies are in Process Development and Team and Project Management. I bring these skills to my courses, and to assist you.
