I am Santiago your course instructor!
Here is a little bit about my life. I was born in Bogota, Colombia where I had the privilege of attending a great private school (El Gimnasio de Los Cerros) until the 8th grade. I finished high school in Boca Raton, Florida.I graduated with college credits for AP Spanish and AP Spanish Literature. During college I worked as a Spanish tutor and I also volunteered at a clinic as a Spanish translator/interpreter during medical examinations. In Florida, I worked as a Spanish teacher and tutor for a private academy for three years,1 to 4 students per classroom.
The methods that I use are demonstration, hands-on and collaboration followed by Q/A. I find that a student’s participation and involvement during a lesson significantly increases their retention in the classroom. I also take advantage of technology and I use the internet to show my students videos and images related to the topic.I share music, art and other cultural characteristics of Spanish speakers to make the learning environment fun and interesting.
In the past year, I have been producing online Spanish lessons and providing students with daily Spanish vocabulary on social media.During the past few years education and Spanish have become more than a passion for me. I am very excited about providing the best learning experience for students worldwide.
Again, thank you very much for your consideration.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
