Welcome to the course!!
Lots of great tips on how to practice your lessons!
Here we go! In this lesson you'll learn the importance of breathing correctly, how to do so, and the basics of how the voice works. We'll be starting with a basic breathing exercise. ***Make sure you download the free PDF after this lesson***
In this lesson you'll learn an excellent breathing exercise to help you start getting used to the way singers use their breath.
Time to learn one of the most popular breathing exercises there is! Just by making the sound of a snake.
This exercise expands on what you learned in lesson 1.3. It's designed to teach you how to exhale before you take your next breath while you're singing. Most new singers totally miss this and it is a HUGE help!
In this lesson I'm going to introduce you to a couple of great (and simple) vocal exercises that will help you warm up your voice before you start singing.
In this lesson I'm going to show you an awesome little trick to instantly make your voice sound more "resonant", present, and emotional.
Tips On Practicing:
Consistency over everything! Don't feel like you need to be practicing an hour a day or anything like that. You only need to be doing about 20 minutes or so each day. And as with any exercising, it's also important that you stay consistent. It's best if you do 5-6 days of the week and always give yourself a rest day!
P.S. You can practice your breathing as much as you like. After all, you are doing it all day long already. :)
In this lesson we're going to work on using simple, everyday sounds to help you connect with your natural voice.
Let's expand on the same idea using a new vowel sound: "Ahh".
In this lesson you'll learn about the throat's important role in the voice, and correct technique for the muscles of the throat.
In this lesson we continue to expand on the same idea, introducing the "H" sound and learning how to sing it without losing all of your breath support.
Continuing with the "Ahh" vowel, we now learn how to deal with a consonant that causes you to close your lips. The 'M".
Ah yes! The classic "Laa" exercise. But now you know how already to sing the vowel correctly!
Now we're going to put all of Section 2 together in one exercise!
In this section, we're going to start working on expanding your range so you can sing higher notes with more ease and clarity.
The "siren" is an excellent way to connect with how your voice gets into the higher range without pushing or straining.
You guessed it! Now we're going to siren "Hey - Ahh."
Ok, now it's time to siren the word "Ma."
Let's siren the famous "La."

This is the perfect course for TOTAL BEGINNERS, to people who have a little experience singing, but haven't taken many singing lessons and don't really understand much about technique or how the voice works. If your goal is to sing Pop, Rock, Country, Blues, R&B, Indie, Alternative... any popular style of music, this course is a great match for you. (This course is NOT for Classical or Operatic singing. Those styles are quite different in their technique.)
In order for this system to work for you...
- You do NOT need any "natural" musical talent, singing talent, or previous vocal training
- You do NOT need to know anything about technique or how your voice works (in fact, the less you know the better, because you'll have fewer bad habits to overcome)
- You do NOT need to understand music theory, or even know how to read music
