I am an independent filmmaker. Currently I'm pursuing a post graduation on Film & Screen Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London. My recent project was Good Night Gloria, an independent feature film that can be found in Vimeo's video on demand. I along my colleagues spent almost two years to complete the project. The primary camera that I used to shoot the film was a Canon DSLR. I was really intrigued by Magic Lantern, a software that runs along with Canon's firmware. It opened up endless possibilities and I made full use of it.
For last four years, I have been using Canon DSLR as my primary tool to shoot video for feature film, short film and commercials. Despite of all the limitations, I found out that DSLRs have certain advantage over traditional camcorders and cameras not to mention that they shoot amazing stills. Therefore I believe in the possibilities of DSLRs for shooting video. With Magic Lantern now you can shoot amazing RAW videos that were only possible by expensive cameras few years ago.
As I'm a believer of the possibilities of the online media, I went into The University of Gloucestershire to complete my first MSc in Computing with IT Management. But due to my passion on both technology and media, I ended up being a broadcasting journalist at the beginning of my career. I had the opportunity to work for two cable TV networks in the UK and worked extensively on news and events. Those news and stories helped me to know the communities better and inspired me to tell their stories beyond the news report.
I love to share the knowledge regarding filmmaking and related technologies through Twitter, Facebook and my website.
