Section 1: Getting Started

This course is designed for absolute beginners that would like to learn how to build a website to host and sell courses online.

In this lecture, we'll review a couple recommended web hosts.

In this lecture, we'll create a new MySQL database, upload the Drupal distribution to our web host, and install the software.

Getting familiar with the interface we'll be using, and the various menu links we have access to.

Enabling new features to our website such as the ability to upload videos and set pricing to courses.

Now that we have e-commerce enabled, we need to enable some payment methods. In this lecture, we install the Stripe gateway for processing credit cards as well as PayPal.

Now that everything is enabled, before we start creating courses, lets change the website to look how we want it to. In this lecture, we discover how to adjust various colors, logo, favicon, and background options. We also take a look at removing and positioning blocks.

Section 2: Creating Content

Be default, our lessons can include slides. However in this lesson, we're going to tweak slides to also allow videos to be attached.

Now that everything is setup, we'll create our very first course.

With a course created, let's get familiar with the course interface and the available options and menus.

Creating a lesson with video content attached.

Quizzes are a great tool to get users engaging with your content and make sure they're retaining the information they're learning. With dozens of interactive question types, you can always keep your content interesting.

Section 3: Administration

Forums are automatically created when new courses are created, and allow your students to start discussions with other students and instructors.

Use the calendar feature to schedule events, quizzes, lessons, and more. Calendar events update and show across all students calendars.

Send private messages to your students.

How to create and manage your various users, as well as assign permissions to the various roles on your website (guest, student, teach, admin).

Now that we've created some sample content, lets go through the website as if we were a customer. We will purchase a course, setup our account, complete lessons and quizzes, post in the forums, and message the instructor directly.

Section 4: Marketing

Learn to add social sharing buttons to your website.

Learn to build an e-mail list and collect e-mail addresses from your website for newsletter purposes.

Optimize your site to be recognized and ranked highest in search engines.

Section 5: Bonus Content

Create coupon codes for your courses so you can offer them at a discounted rate and get more sales.
