After all the implementation is done, how does MDG look to the end users? This session shows MDG from the end user perspective. It touches upon important technical concepts like "Change Requests" and how it is relevant to the over all master data solution.
It is only 4 years since the first version of MDG was released. But the solution has been very stable since its early releases? How is that possible? Most products has to go through an evolution phase, when the product issues get resolved? MDG is based on several mature technical components in SAP: Workflow, Dictionary, Webdynpro, ALE/iDOC etc. these technologies have been used in hundreds of solutions for more than a decade. MDG is a very smart+thin implementation reusing these technologies. Here we cover the architecture overview.
To explain the basics of any technology/software, we need a light weight business scenario; one with just enough complexity to highlight all the features of the software. Here we briefly explain the Rental Car scenario and how we have used it in our explanations.
MDG implementation starts with Data Modelling. The data model is used by MDG framework to generate tables in ABAP Dictionary. This is the persistence layer for MDG applications. The data model is also used by UI modelling steps to generate the user interface. In this session, we cover the architecture of MDG and how it uses the ABAP Dictionary.
WebDynpro for ABAP (WDA) FPM is the UI technology for MDG. All the MDG screens are implemented in WDA-FPM. Most solutions can be built by just customizing the delivered MDG framework. Here we discuss about this technical components and details around how it is used.
Workflow process definition is a crucial part of any MDG implementation. It defines the term "Governance " in MDG. The process definition has to be flexible, to accommodate varying customer requirements. Process Modelling in MDG is done using Business Workflow. In this session, we review the design details around process definition and its significance in MDG Architecture.

She has gone through multiple MDG implementations across various functional areas. She is very active in pre-sales. She fields variety of custom questions as well as provides solutions to variety of business scenarios. She is very hands on. She worked with business SMEs, functional experts and Basis teams to implement MDG solution.
